MN WIFT MondayS
One of our most impactful initiatives is the
MN WIFT Mentorship Program, which pairs emerging and mid-career creatives with experienced professionals for a three-month journey of support, insight, and career development. Designed especially for freelancers and independent artists who often navigate the industry without consistent guidance, this program offers one-on-one mentorship, honest conversation, and practical goal setting.
Mentors and mentees meet biweekly, with prompts and conversation guides provided by MN WIFT to foster intentional, empowering dialogue. The program concludes with a celebratory mixer—a space for mentors and mentees to connect in person, reflect on their progress, and toast to the growth they’ve nurtured together. It’s more than mentorship—it’s a launching pad for lasting relationships in Minnesota’s film and media community.
MN WIFT programs are tailored for emerging and established talent alike. We provide space for collaboration, mentorship, visibility, and resource-sharing. These aren’t just opportunities to learn—they’re invitations to grow, contribute, and connect with a wider creative network that values your voice.

We all know that actor, comic, speaker, or singer/songwriter with seemingly terrible technique, but who is completely magnetic and magnificent to watch or listen to. How do they bypass all the “rules” and still deliver binge-worthy performances?
This virtual session will explore the multi-faceted “magic” that is good storytelling through the lens of our inner relationship to ourselves. Less a clinical or linear approach to vocal production and mastery (though necessary tools for creating a healthy voice), this workshop focuses on the alchemy of sound and presence that makes a compelling performance through the mind, body, and voice. Using movement, breath, and mindfulness exercises, this short class will offer a multi-faceted approach to uncover the truth in our bodies as a means to deliver the truth of any story we wish to tell.
Whether performing as an actor, leading or directing a team on set, or delivering a message through public speaking or sales, our voices have the power to create the positive influence that we desire when we connect the intention of the story to the physicality of our bodies. These tools are useful for performers, public speakers, directors, producers, or any role with a high degree of communication and interpersonal interaction.
Comfortable clothing, a dedicated space, and an open mind are recommended for this class, as there will be opportunities for movement and noise-making in your own space. (Camera-on optional.)
